Wiki is a collaborative website that allows users to add, edit and remove content. There is no "leader" so anyone can add whatever they please. It is a way users can be creative and share their voice. You can learn by sharing, group work, and peer interactions.
Wiki has advantages like using it as a social learning environment so students can contribute and collaborate with each other and that way learning is more effective than doing individual work. It is a way to express opinions, think critically, and construct new ideas. Wikis is the most innovative way of doing group assignments. An individual's thought process can be seen in the discussion area and it provides opportunities for leadership.
Wikis can be used in my classroom by giving the students a way to be creative and show off their skills. Students can post helpful information for their classmates. Information that my students find that could benefit their peers, can be posted on the wiki. I can also post videos that I think would be helpful for my students to watch and they can comment and interact on the video. They can communicate to each other through the wiki.
